Here is a look back on my week / weekend spent in Disneyland with some family, a quick glance at a movie in a graveyard, a day at the Getty Museum, and a quick stop at the beach! It was a busy weekend. None of the Disney music is mine and all rights are given to Disney and related parties. Frozen is definitely not mine. Background music is also not mine.
The Getty Villa museum in California is a replica of an ancient Roman villa excavated in Herculaneum, near Pompeii. It houses Etruscan, Greek and Roman antiquities. It's a beautiful place overlooking the ocean, and the collection of artifacts is wonderful. Sorry about the vid quality, it's the first time I've done something like this and have a Flip on order, hope I'll do better with that.

The Getty Center, in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, is one of two locations of the J. Paul Getty Museum. The museum's permanent collection includes "pre-20th-century European paintings, drawings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, and decorative arts; and 19th- and 20th-century American and European photographs". Among the works on display is the painting Irises by Vincent van Gogh. The Center, which opened on December 16, 1997, is also well known for its architecture, gardens, and views (overlooking Los Angeles). Besides the Museum, the Center's buildings house the Getty Research Institute, the Getty Conservation Institute, the Getty Foundation, and the administrative offices of the J. Paul Getty Trust, which owns and operates the Center.

Go behind the scenes with the installation of this three-and-a-half-ton Greek sculpture at the Getty Villa in Malibu. On loan to the Villa through January 2013 as part of a new partnership between the J. Paul Getty Museum and the Capitoline Museums in Rome, the monumental marble "Lion Attacking a Horse" is one of the most storied works of art to survive from antiquity, and has not left Rome in over 2,000 years. Narrated by Claire Lyons, senior curator of antiquities at the J. Paul Getty Museum. Take a virtual tour of the Getty Villa Museum in Malibu California. It is a beautiful place that is free to get in, though parking costs extra ($20), but it is very well worth it. The grounds are immaculate, with beautiful views. Interesting areas of note includes a Prayer/Wishing Station with the Statue of Venus, the inner courtyard/peristyle, the Roman/Greek exhibits, a life size statue of Hercules, the outdoor Greek theater, and the Herb/Botanical Garden with a Koi Pond. If you are visiting the LA area and have a couple hours to spend, the Getty Villa is a great place to get away from the crowd and enjoy an afternoon.
